I love coming across undiscovered brands regardless of local, regional, or International position and moreover a brand that has a story! So, when I bumped into Ahmed Abou Chaaban who is the creative director behind Palestyle, a local designer alongside Zeina (founder) at their launch at Sauce I was left feeling very enthusiastic for the two. This is what the doublesome have shared through their website www.palestyle.com
”We love Trending Flavors which we represent through: Handmade Palestinian Embroidery, Arabic Calligraphy and Cultural inspirations. Importantly, we love empowering our creative Palestinian refugee women who handmake all of our embroidery designs. So in 2009, we established the Social Fashion Brand Palestyle “Trendy Fashion with a Cultural Flavors”
The doublesome launched their line at Sauce, a store located in the biggest mall in the world??? Yes, Dubai Mall – and I had the pleasure of meeting the brains behind the brand. What is more ironic is the brand name Palestyle is pronounced as you would Palestine (how cool), where Ahmed and Zeina originate from as explained by Ahmed himself! The accessories are intricate and very feminine, definitely made for a lady with taste for the finer details in life! The event was a success, although I did have to leave pretty early on since catching a nasty bug from the plane journey back to Dubai 😦 but all in all, I have read positive things about the event and wish I was fit enough to have stayed back to witness a surprise special flash mob performance.
I managed to snap a few pics – you can also check out a post from http://sauceloves.com/2012/04/12/palestyle-launches-at-suce/
