Let me take you on a tour through the SS’13 collection for Lipsy ( hope you’ve got your popcorn at the ready):
What do you think of the collection?
All in all, 7 themes were showcased throughout the evening, held at the Raddison Library Lounge.
The amazing PR girls, (I must give these ladies a shout-out because they are FAB) gave me a tour of the different aesthetics from the SS’13 Lipsy collection. Starting of at the monochrome corner saw stripes galore. Stripes is undoubtedly one of my favourite’s for this season, I have myself well stocked up, have you?. Although, as we both know, horizontal stripes widen all body shapes, I have to mention that Lipsy have cleverly chosen a material to almost counteract that appearance, serving as spandex (that of a bodycon) – awesome right? Mollie King was recently spotted in a horizontal striped skirt on her way to radio 1, owning the look from A-Z:
Moving onto the next collection saw a spoonful of the Caribbean in Dubai, one of my favourite’s for the night was the ‘tropical’ dress (pictured first), featuring an array of colours, ideal for summer, teamed with a pair of sandals would finish of a feminine and flirty yet strong woman look.
Then came the Velour suits, ohhhh did I want to slip into ones of these and cosy up on the sofa, they look as snug as a bug in a rug . Lipsy have incorporated a towelette type material into their SS’13 collection, great for pre/post-beach time or sleep-overs (if people still do that).
Landing in on yet another favourite section, I love(ed) the printed blazer and shorts combo. Print is still going strong, so a great choice for Lipsy to still continue on with this trend.
Reds, Blacks and White’s were colours on the 5th rail. Bodycon again and some striking prints (one can never have enough animal print in their closet) were main characteristics of this section. No harm adding a pop of colour to monochrome, fashion is about thinking outside the 4 walls right? Think red.
The second to final rack was the ‘belle of the ball’ featuring neutrals, mainly nude and peachy undertones. Lace is going nowhere just yet, the highway can hold off for a little longer,or even maybe forever. Recently, Jessica Alba was pictured wearing a lace gown by the amazing Ellie Saab:
Last but not least, the exclusive collection bang in the middle resembled red carpet (VIP) with long flowy bandeau gowns. lace, peplum structured dresses, and longer hemlines, whoever chooses to shop this collection will look a vision.
The evening was busy, Urban Decay were on hand for mini make-overs (the make-up artist was a fellow Mancunian too) and of course the delicious delicacies! All of what you’ve seen will be hitting stores this week coming week.
