Jeans & Blazer: Zara, Tee: H&M, Bag: Saint Laurent, Shoes: Blonde Ambition
I have a story to tell about these specific jeans, I have been searching high and low for a white pair to no avail. My ingenious idea was to buy the same pair of jeans that I found comfortable/distressed and bleach them, SIMPLE right? Not for me anyway!
On my mission, I used a bottle of cleaning bleach that had been laying around the house for a couple of weeks, nonetheless still bleach, so I set out to evenly wet them (with water) ready for transformation. After applying the bleach, I waited for a couple of minutes in anticipation to see the blue strip right away, did that happen, no! Instead a yellowish colour started to form on the jeans, much to my shock, I quickly rinsed them to retain the little bit of decency that was left. Straight in the wash, hung out to dry and ready for take 2. Thinking the bleach was wrong, I went out to buy a new, thicker, stronger, meaner bleach.
Round 2. This time around, I bleached the jeans, dry, to see if this would help lighten the colour, AGAIN, the yellowish colour deepens, washed, out to dry and time to prep for round 3.
Round 3. Repeat step 2. I GIVE UP, it’s not working how I expected, the above pictures are the end result. If you want to see the original colour, take a look at OOTD – Florals V’s Stripes, I guess they have gone lighter, just not white.
PS to top it off, one of the belt hooks rips off, that’s how flimsy the material has become. All that for a white pair of distressed jeans, life eh!
